Farmers' NYX Cosmetics Giveaway Unboxing
Two months ago I started a challenge for myself which I dubbed the Lipstick Only Challenge. This challenged involved wearing a different shade of lip colour each day for at least a month without any other makeup ie I had to go bare-faced with only a lip colour. (You can read more about the challenge on my last blog post.) The majority of the colours I have worn to date were NYX Cosmetics products; mainly because I had acquired their two vault selections: the Soft Matte Lip Cream Vault and the Liquid Suede Vault. By chance, New Zealand's department store chain Farmers also ran a NYX Cosmetics giveaway competition on their Instagram social media site around the same time I started the challenge. To enter the competition it required the participants to post a photo of them wearing NYX Cosmetics products onto their Instagram with the hashtags #NYXatFarmers and #NYXNewZealand. I knew with all the talented makeup artists out there I would have little chance of winning the competition but a little voice in my head urged me to try anyways. So I entered my daily photos into the competition. Imagine my shock when I was contacted by Farmers after the competition had closed. I was in such disbelieve I thought it might have been a scam. However, everything checked out and I was beyond excited to receive my prize in the mail. I have never won anything quite like this before and never thought I would. But sure enough I received the package from Farmers a few days after.

NYX Cosmetics arrived in New Zealand stores about two years ago. Before that I had come to know of the products via YouTube beauty gurus and the annual NYX Face Awards that propelled some of my favourite YouTube artists like Mykie from Glam&Gore and Charisma Star into the spotlight. Seeing their creations using NYX products I wanted to try out the cosmetics range myself. But I could not bring myself to splurge on these products when I do not wear makeup on a regular basis. This giveaway could not have come at a better time and I am excited to share with you what I received.
Farmers was very generous in their gift, I can definitely do a whole look with the box full of products they sent me. They are as follows...
NYX 3 piece Prep and Finish Set consisting of a Setting Spray, HD Finishing Powder and a Studio Perfect Photo-loving Primer.
NYX Soho Glam Collection consisting of 52 eye shadows, 4 face colours, 4 blushers, 2 Lip glosses, 1 lip liner pencil and 8 lip colours with a mirror and 3 applicators.
NYX Invincible Fullest Coverage Foundation in Porcelain; Color Mascara in Blue; High Definition Blush in Crimson; and Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple Velvet.
The Jumbo Eye Pencil is one of the products I looked forward to the most. It is highly pigmented and glides on very easily. I have seen Charisma Star use these pencils a lot in her tutorials and the effect is gorgeous. Also, how cute is that bow on the blush compact? And blue mascara? Where were these products in the years I was doing cosplays?

The names for the Butter Lipsticks and Glosses all sound so delicious. They are great additions to my collection; more colours for my Lipstick Only Challenge! Can you match the names to the colours? Comment below on which is your favourite in terms of the actual dessert/sweets or the colour?
With all of these products it makes me wish I was cosplaying still. Maybe it is the universe giving me a "hint, hint, nudge, nudge" moment.
